Portia is the 'sorting house'.

 

This is where the Airport and Main Seaport is located and all visitors enter and leave Fortunata through Portia.

 

Once cleared through Portia, an invitation from a Fortunata resident must be received, before someone is then allowed to cross the bridge that separate these islands.

 

Immigration to the main island of Fortunata is rare and almost exclusively kept for extended family. Consequently, the people of Fortunata are wooed online by the world, more because of the immigration possibilities than their beautiful looks.

Anyone that wishes to return to the main island from Perturbia or Impedia, must go through Portia for assessment. This is their filter that keeps the main island clean and pristine.
